Blackstone Award Recipients

The Blackstone Award, established in 1963 and named for British jurist Sir William Blackstone (1723–1780), honors lawyers demonstrating consistent ability, integrity, and courage.

To qualify, recipients must be Tarrant County Bar Association members, at least 65 years old (or older by unanimous Committee vote), and have practiced law in Tarrant County for 15 years, including the five years immediately before the Award.

Silver Gavel Award Recipients

The Silver Gavel Award is given to a judge or jurist with at least 10 years of service who has made substantial contributions by exemplifying the ability, integrity, and courage desirable in a Judge. The recipient respects the law, expects others to do the same, and is knowledgeable across all areas of law. This award is given regardless of age, gender, court level, or legal area, excluding Associate Judges.
